Last week during the Keep Mississippi Beautiful Annual Awards, Starkville received First Place in Recycling in Mississippi.
Keep Starkville Beautiful was recognized for its Think Green on the Move Recycling Program, which moves locations throughout the community and stops at the Starkville Community Market each month during the market season.
Pictured below, Mayor Lynn Spruill, Director of Sanitation Chris Smiley, and Alderman Hamp Beatty pose with first place award. They serve on the Partnership, Main Street, and CVB Board of Directors, respectively.
Smiley also accepted the affiliate award for Keep Starkville Beautiful’s yearly program designation.
