Mississippi State University is well represented on the shelves of Maroon & Company.
Founder, Wyatt Craig, has always had a business mind because of his family’s establishment in Natchez, Mississippi. Sports Center has provided the city of Natchez with outdoor and sporting equipment since 1946.
With a similar idea, Wyatt and co-founder, Amber Kay Logan, decided to create a Mississippi State experience with more exclusive items.
“We realized there was a gap in the market,” said Logan. “We wanted to have high-end MSU products with a reasonable price tag.”
On the left half of the store, customers will find almost every MSU-themed object imaginable. Home décor, vehicle accessories, decals, clothing, bags, and cowbells line the walls of the store. Logan designs buttons for every home game, as well as some away games.
As a fitted Adidas team, Maroon and Co. has an array of Adidas products bearing the sacred maroon and white logo.
Logan does a lot of custom work for the store.
“I try to stay away from what everyone else has,” said Logan. “We want to be that retailer with items that you can’t find anywhere else.”
The establishment prides itself on being a store fit for every shopper.
“Catering to the community as a whole and not just the Mississippi State students was our goal with Maroon & Co,” said Logan.
The right half of the store is packed with lifestyle items. Two of the most popular brands available at the business include Old Row and Barstool Sports. Additionally, customers will find polo shirts, sunglasses, flags, coolers, footwear, and other accessories.
Maroon & Company is open Monday-Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Friday-Saturday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday, the store is open from 1 p.m. until 5 p.m. They also have an online store available for customers.
