Nestled in the historic heart of downtown Starkville, L.A. Green has been delighting the community since its debut in 2011.

Founded by Lauren Ann Cooper, the boutique originally opened in Cotton Crossing before relocating to Main Street almost 10 years ago and expanding to nearby cities like Tupelo and Madison.
How It Started
Handled with grace, and pursued with passion Cooper thought, “My whole life I said I would never own my own business, because I saw how hard my family worked growing up, but the Lord definitely has me where I’m supposed to be.”
Driven by the idea of small-town charm, and big-town style, Lauren Ann wanted a fashion hub that felt warm, inviting, and community-driven—and Starkville’s “safe and loving” vibe was the perfect match.
For over a decade, the store has stood out not just for its trend-right collections, but for treating each customer like a friend. That level of personal customer service makes browsing exclusive labels alongside favorites like Show Me Your Mumu, Stoney Clover, Free People, Bella Dahl, and Forever Lovely a one-of-a-kind experience.
Creating an Amazing Customer Experience

To enhance the customer experience, L.A. Green “curates delivery bags for customers and delivers to them, and lets them try on what’s inside.”
Along with that, “I also do closet clean outs and help style customers and help them outfit what they already have and help make lists of staples that customers may need,” says Cooper.
From everyday casual looks to occasion-ready dresses, plus a full complement of footwear, scarves, jewelry, and accessories—L.A. Green has you covered. Their home section is equally dreamy, with candles, bath products, lotions, journals, and curated gift items. Whatever your need is, they’ve got you covered.
Looking Forward
L.A. Green isn’t letting the downtown revitalization project slow them down—in fact, they see it as a chance to grow alongside the community. “I’m excited about so much for the future of downtown,” says Cooper. “I think it’s going to be an energy and modernization that we have needed for a long time, and overall, bringing more retail and service businesses downtown is best for everyone.”
Lauren Ann doesn’t just run a store—she’s deeply rooted in the local scene. Having a store that is as deeply ingrained in the community as L.A. Green means more than just selling clothes—it’s about being a meaningful part of people’s lives.
Cooper’s personal spirit of giving extends into the business.
