Each year the Starkville Main Street Association offers the Dr. Michael W. Fazio Facade Improvement Grant to its members.
Since 2021, more than 23 downtown businesses have updated their facades and exteriors to enhance and beautify their storefronts.
Dr. Michael W. Fazio Façade Improvement Grant
The Starkville Main Street Association (SMSA) Façade Improvement Grant is designed to assist property owners and their tenants in enhancing and improving the physical appearance of their buildings to encourage further downtown revitalization.
Deadline:
The application is rolling for FY 2026. (Fiscal Year October 1, 2025 – September 30, 2026).

NEW! Promotional Grant for Main Street Revitalization Project
New for the 2026 Fiscal Year is the Main Street Promotional Grant.
Purpose
This grant is intended to benefit downtown businesses impacted during the construction period of the Main Street Revitalization project. The purpose of this grant is to create and support additional promotional events and activities that bring visitors and foot traffic downtown during this time. This grant is NOT to be used for regular operating expenses such as payroll, rent, or utilities. Applications are due on the 20th of each calendar month to be approved for anticipated reimbursement following the event. Submission must be within 60 days of the first receipt or purchase for a promotional event.
