
About the SMSA
We focus our efforts on the economic vitality and vibrancy of the Starkville downtown district. Our four focus areas are the economic vitality, design, promotion, and organization of downtown Starkville.
Along with hosting many special events throughout the year, the Starkville Main Street Association oversees year-round beautification and improvement projects within the district with the assistance of sponsors and business partners, and the City of Starkville.

Starkville Main Street operates with the support of the Mississippi Main Street Association, a joint program of the Mississippi Development Authority and the National Trust for Historic Preservation. The state and national programs assist by providing training, information, and other services.

Who can be a Main Street Member?
Individuals, Businesses, and Corporations who are Partnership members can also dually join the Starkville Main Street Association. Sole membership for SMSA is not available, but any and all businesses are welcome to join or become event sponsors through first joining the Partnership.

Starkville Main Street Association’s mission is to continually focus on promotion, economic vitality, organization, and the design of the downtown Starkville district. How do I participate in a Starkville Main Street Association Event?
Main Street members located within the Main Street district in good standing are eligible to participate in each of the special events Main Street hosts each year. Chamber members who sponsor certain Main Street events are also eligible to participate through their sponsorships.
How can I sponsor a Main Street Event?
Sponsorships are available throughout the year which target the thousands of community members and tourists that visit SMSA’s special events each year. Any chamber member is eligible to sponsor any Main Street event. Costs of sponsorships vary depending upon event size and costs associated with each event. Learn More.
