Cities of the SEC Launches Pass Highlighting Attractions in Southeastern Conference Cities
Starkville, MS – The Starkville CVB, a branch of the Greater Starkville Development Partnership and the official tourism organization for Starkville, in conjunction with Destination Marketing Organizations (DMOs) from all the cities in the Southeastern Conference, is launching a Visit the SEC Pass. Now the best fans in the country can get rewarded for visiting their favorite SEC cities. Fans can sign up for the Cities of the SEC Pass and earn rewards by checking in at the top restaurants, shopping and attractions in their favorite college towns!

The pass is a free program that all visitors and locals can sign up for. With more than 150 attractions and local businesses from the 15 SEC cities included within the pass, it showcases the best of the SEC in an easy, mobile-friendly way.
“We’ve been working together as the Cities of the SEC for almost two years, and we recognized the opportunity to package our destinations in an easy-to-use way for visitors to explore. This pass allows visitors to check in at the top attractions in each city while racking up points to redeem for prizes,” said Starkville Director of Tourism Paige Hunt.

Conversations around creating a user-friendly way for SEC fans to learn about things to do as they travel around the Southeastern Conference began last summer. These conversations led the Cities of the SEC Destination Marketing Organizations, including the Starkville CVB, to reach out to a well-known technology company in the travel space, Bandwango. Bandwango technology is designed to support experiences created by destinations and marketed to visitors and locals.
Visitors and locals can visit a dedicated mobile passport landing page at VisitTheSEC.com where they can sign-up for the pass by providing their name, e-mail address, mobile phone number and, of course, the team they cheer for! A link is then sent to their mobile phone, which opens the passport and directs the user to add the button icon to their home screen, where they can access it any time. There is never anything to download and no bulky apps take up space on a user’s phone.
