The Amazing Smells From This Store Will Stop You In Your Tracks
If you are shopping in Starkville and walk down Main Street past Magnolia Soap and Bath Company, the crisp, sweet smell of soap may stop you in your tracks.
Whether you are looking for a unique bar of soap, bath bombs, body butter, face care products, or laundry detergent, Magnolia Soap and Bath Company offers a wide range of products to cater to the needs of all customers.

Magnolia Soap and Bath Company has over 22 locations across the country and in areas of Mississippi. The Starkville location of the shop opened in the fall of 2020. Through the use of plant-based soap products, they give their customers natural and safe products for even the most sensitive skin types.
Where It All Started
The Magnolia Soap and Bath Co. franchise is owned by Magen Bynum. Bynum’s daughter struggled with a skin condition that was only heightened by the use of commercial soap products. Bynum set out on a mission to create soap products for her daughter, free of chemicals and preservatives and full of natural ingredients.

This company’s foundation to deliver safe and effective soap products to communities drew the attention of Starkville local, Patience Mcree. Mcree and her family started as customers and became passionate about the mission of the company, thus the Starkville location was opened.
Patience and her family run the Starkville store. Patience described the unique aurora of the store in terms of being one of a kind in the Starkville area.
“There is no other store in the area like us and everything we have is made here in store. We are unique because of what we do!” General Manager said.
‘SOAP’ER COOL SOAP
Magnolia Soap and Bath Company is serious about delivering plant-based, natural products to their customers. Most soaps made in mass production are closer to a detergent than traditional soap. The mass production process removes the natural glycerin (animal or vegetable fat), which gives it moisturizing properties and replaces it with synthetic moisturizing agents.
While mass-produced soap can be more economical for companies and consumers, this can create major skin sensitivities. Magnolia Soap and Bath Co. want to emphasize the importance of plant-based beauty products to all of its customers.

Whether you are in the market for a fresh-smelling detergent or a colorful bar of soap, Magnolia Soap and Co. has it all. The store offers soap products for him and her as well as products for pets.
When asked about why the Starkville location was so special to McRee, she beamed.
“We love being in Starkville because people love to support us and shop local! They are so welcoming and give us a small-town feel,” said McRee.
MAGNOLIA SOAP AND COMPANY AND THE PARTNERSHIP
Magnolia Soap and Co. chose to become a member of the Partnership due to the amazing opportunities it presented.
Patience emphasized the importance of the customers and the Starkville community.
“We joined the Partnership to be involved in our community. I found out about all the benefits that come from being a part of what the Partnership represents.” said McRee.
The website directory where the Partnership promotes Magnolia Soap and Bath Co., brings many customers to the store location in Starkville.

Magnolia Soap and Company gets plugged in many ways with the Partnership. Patience described the different events that are available because of their membership with the Partnership.
“UnWine Downtown is just one event we love getting involved in. Any other events the Partnership puts on, we try and take part in.” said McRee.
SUPPORTING THE COMMUNITY
In many ways, Magnolia Soap and Bath Company gives back to the Starkville community. Not only do they pour their work into soap that is safe for all to use, but they also help with any need the Starkville area may have.
Patience is passionate about helping people regardless of their needs.
“Anyone who asks for donations gets one of our $15 boxes. We also donate our soap buds to the homeless for Starkville Strong. We enjoy working with Dunkington to make this possible.” said McRee.
