Located just off Main Street on South Lafayette, Magnolia Hair Studio is giving Starkville citizens fresh cuts and color six days a week.

Magnolia Hair Studio occupies a bright, airy space with exposed wooden beams and rows of stylist chairs.
Owner Sarah Dempsey’s love for hairdressing is deep-rooted.
“Doing hair has always been a passion of mine, even since high school,” said Dempsey.
Dempsey is from Mathiston, Mississippi, and attended East Mississippi Community College for her cosmetology education. While in Starkville she met her husband, Alex, MSU student at the time.
While she was focused on being a stylist, she did not always have plans for her own studio.
“Owning my own business came to me over quarantine,” said Dempsey. “I enjoy the simplicity of life and not the hustle and bustle of a super busy shop.”
Dempsey and other staff members provide a friendly atmosphere for all customers.
“It’s a very relaxed, homey environment,” said Dempsey. “I wanted everyone to feel comfortable and welcome here.”
The studio offers custom color, balayage, foiling, and cuts for all ages.
“We are a family-oriented business,” said Dempsey. “I have a four and six year old, so I love doing kids’ cuts.”
Magnolia Hair studio allows walk-ins, but encourages appointments to secure your ideal time.
Magnolia Hair Studio is open Monday, Tuesday, and Friday from 8 a.m. until 10 p.m. On Wednesday and Saturday, the local business is open from 8 a.m. until 2 p.m.
