Founded in May 1978, Backstage Music has provided an incredible variety of products and services for Starkville and surrounding areas for over forty years. Storeowners Jim and Allen have a full-line music store and are authorized dealers of hundreds of manufacturers. The store is sure to have everything you need and more.

Conveniently located on Highway 12, Backstage Music offers a creative place to get your music gear. Ukuleles, violins, keyboards and drums are just a few of the many instruments that fill the store.

Backstage Music also offers rentals of many instruments including band instruments for children in school.

Parents can also use the website rentfromhome.com and enter the code TR54E to rent online in a process that takes less than ten minutes. Instruments are shipped to the customer’s home free of charge.

Rentals start at $22 per month and include very common instruments like clarinets and flutes all the way to cellos and basses.

“It’s the most family budget friendly rental program I’ve ever seen,” Allen said.

In addition, a rent to own program is available for customers who want to take the next step in their music careers. From vocals to drums to piano, Backstage Music utilizes independent teachers for customer lessons.

PA systems and accompanying equipment are commonly rented out to customers. House parties, weddings and class reunions are a few of the events to which Backstage Music lends its service.

If you have an event, Backstage Music has the right equipment to make it phenomenal. Most notably, the beloved Dudy Noble Field on the MSU campus is furnished with PA equipment from the store.

Backstage Music’s current hours are 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., and they are open every day expect Sunday.
