Kiel Hebert and Whit Stucky opened the doors of Moe’s Original BBQ on Starkville’s Main Street in August of 2016.

“We love the small-town atmosphere and the great, local people,” says Hebert. “[Starkville] is a great place to live and make a living. A lot has changed since I’ve lived here as a student but it’s still home to me. The people are great and the University is the best there is. Having a restaurant in Starkville is a dream come true and we are very happy and grateful to be here.”

Part of the Community

Hebert and Stucky are both native Mississippians, and Hebert is an MSU Alumni. Their downtown location gives them the perfect spot to be an active part of the Starkville community.

Giving back to the community is an important part of Hebert and Stucky’s goals and they donate food and prizes to a number of community events around town. They also work with groups on campus, contributing door prizes for fundraisers and philanthropic events.

Moe’s is a great location for private events and they frequently host Fraternity and Sorority events, fundraising events, karaoke parties, graduation parties, and wedding receptions.

Moe’s also participates in many annual local events including the Cotton District Arts Festival, the Taco Hop, Downtown at Sundown, Main Street Music Festival, and Bulldog Bash.

The menu at Moe’s includes all kinds of Southern BBQ styles including pulled pork, ribs, smoked chicken, wings, smoked turkey breast, and lots of tasty traditional Southern sides.

You can order a sandwich meal with two sides and a drink or a platter with added cornbread. For those looking for a little something different, try the fried shrimp ‘moe’ boy or fried catfish.
