When you walk through the doors of Cater’s Market, friendly faces greet you, ready to serve up excellent dishes.
Sixteen years ago, Jamie Cater saw the desire among people in the Meridian community for specialty food items. In 2006 she opened Cater’s Market to give the people a taste.
As a result, customers have loved her food for over a decade at the Meridian location. Finally, in the early months of 2020, Starkville citizens were let in on the action.

Cater’s Market has a long list of customer favorites, but the pimento cheese is definitely a signature item at the restaurant. Meals are served with a celery slice filled with the rich dip.
“Pimiento and cheese is something people should have in their refrigerators at all times,” Cater said with a laugh.
You can pick up your own tub from the refrigerated section of the local business. Cater’s is known for its tailgating essentials like spinach and artichoke dip, chicken salad, and BLT dip.
Cater’s only uses fresh and organic ingredients in its food. There are many options available to grab and go. Salmon, tamales, and gumbo are a few of the frozen items offered. There are three casserole sizes, which ensure every one gets the right amount.
The restaurant has a new lunch special every week. Try the filling salads and delicious soups and sandwiches. A glass case filled with desserts provides the perfect cure for your sweet tooth.

At the restaurant, you will find popular products to use for your own dishes or to give as gifts. Mississippi Cheese Straws, Stonewall Kitchen, Captain Rodney’s, and Robert Rothschild are just some of the popular brands carried in the market.
Space in the café is also available for showers, club meetings, and other gatherings. If you need a delivery to your home or office, Cater’s has your back.
Cater’s Market in Starkville is open Tuesday-Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
