MSU University Recreation will be hosting the 2nd edition of the MSU Strength and Fitness Weekend which will feature all the different aspects of physical fitness. The male/female winner of the full event will be crowned Mr./Mrs. MSU Fit who performed the best across all categories. The full event will take place in one day in combination with the MSU Halloween Hustle 5k held earlier in October that is also put on by MSU University Recreation. The competition will take place Saturday November 11th starting with the Strength portion which consists of performing the squat, bench, and deadlift in the traditional powerlifting style. There is a lunch break between the bench and deadlift which will be Subway sandwiches. Following the deadlift, participants in the full event will compete in the Bulldog Blitz Challenge, which tests your muscular endurance, followed by a run through the Obstacle Course for time. The Mr. and Mrs. MSU Fit winners for the full event will be announced at the conclusion of the Obstacle Course after all the scores have been calculated. There will also be a Strongman/Strongwoman award for whoever wins the strength portion of the competition.
If you do not want to compete in the full event and only in one category of events, strength or endurance, then those options are available, but you will not be eligible for the Mr. or Mrs. MSU Fit award. More info regarding the schedule and scoring is down below.
