This Alternative Break Trip will take place during Fall Break on October 12-15, 2023 in Atlanta, GA. This semester we will be partnering with Fur Kids, Georgia’s largest no-kill animal shelter and rescue. Alternative Break Trips provide opportunities to serve alongside a community while addressing prominent issues affecting that community. The trip focus will be animal rights and welfare. Trip participants will also have time to enjoy the Atlanta area. Participants will stay in a communal space, cook meals, and grocery shop together as a part of the experience. At the end of the trip, participants will be able to log community service hours and will receive a certificate at the SLCE Awards ceremony Spring 2024!
The application opens Tuesday, August 1st. The application deadline is Sunday, October 1st, 2023, at 11:59 pm. You will be notified shortly after about your participation status.
NOTE: The application requires a $50.00 non-refundable deposit, which covers transportation, lodging, food, and recreation while on the trip. All charges will be billed to your university student account.
