Mississippi State University offers many historical and educational attractions
to please the entire family.
A.B. McKay Food Research and Enology Lab
See how research produces MSU wine, juices, and jellies from local muscadine
grapes. A guided tour ends with a wine tasting, if desired. Tours are available
by appointment. North Farm located on the MSU campus. 662.325.3011
Aquaculture Research Center
Enjoy learning more about the latest in catfish farming and freshwater shrimp

Arboretum
A guided tour of annuals, perennials, landscaping, plants, flowers, and
trees is available from spring through fall. Tours by appointment only.

CAVE
You can enter the 4th dimension when you take a tour at the Engineering
Research Center for computational field simulation. The ERC gives visitors
the chance to try out their virtual reality programs in the CAVE (Computer
Automatic Virtual Environment). Ride a virtual roller coaster or fly through

Clay Lyle Entomology Museum
This museum features the third largest insect collection in the Southeast.
You can view insects both under a microscope and in display cases. A lecture
in included. Tours are available by appointment. 662.325.2085
Cobb Museum
This is a showcase for more than 350 tools and primitive machinery. MSU

College of Veterinary Medicine - Wise Center
A tour of the full facility, including classroom, laboratory, and animal
clinic is available with advanced notice. 662.325.2283
Dunn Seiler Museum
Rocks, fossils and other geological pieces including a triceratops skull
and sabertooth tiger head. MSU campus. Mon - Fri 9am - 5pm. 662.325.3916
Herzer Dairy Science Building & Cheese Tour
An overview of the dairy plant concludes with a slide show describing the
cheese making process. Cheese and homemade icecream samples are for sale
in the gift shop. Tours are available by appointment. 662.325.3200
John Grisham Room
One of the newest attractions at MSU is the John Grisham Room in the Mitchell
Memorial Library. It is the only complete collection in the US of this Mississippi
author's papers and publications. It includes literary manuscripts, legislative
files, photographs, signed works, international editions, and other materials
on display. The room is open Mon - Fri, 9am - 4pm. Call 662.325.2559 for

The Charles H. Templeton, Sr. Music Museum
Music lovers won't want to miss The Charles H. Templeton, Sr. Music Museum, located on the fourth floor of MSU's Mitchell Memorial Library. Here you'll see musical instruments dating from the 1880s to the 1930s, including a handsome mahogany Aeolian Orchestrelle Player Reed Organ and a Link Automatic Piano. Also included in this extensive collection are more than 22,000 pieces of sheet music and 13,000 records. • WEBSITE
