The Partnership pulls together key business, organizational and political leaders to focus on "big picture" opportunities for Oktibbeha County and to develop a shared vision and strategy to eliminate weaknesses while capitalizing on area strengths.

The volunteer leaders of each of the three member "partners" are members, by virtue of their position, as are the President of the Board of Supervisors, the Mayors of Starkville, Maben and Sturgis and the President of MSU. Ten other members are selected from the private sector for 3-year staggered terms. These members all contribute to the Vision 2005 program, which is the capital campagn that outlined the goals and funded the formation (and now existence) of the Partnership
